Personal History

Thomas M. Petersen grew up in Spokane, Washington. By the age of 16, Tom felt compelled to pursue a law career. Two years later, he secured a clerking job with a Spokane law firm. That same year, by the encouragement of his employer, he started Petersen Process Service, a one person legal processing and filing business. A year later, Tom enrolled in Eastern Washington University. He graduated in 1990 with a bachelors degree in Political Science.

In 1991, Tom began his legal training at Creighton University's School of Law in Omaha, Nebraska. Three years later, Tom received his Juris Doctorate, and graduated Cum Laude from Creighton. Tom was a member of, and the Parliamentarian of, Phi Delta Phi, America's oldest legal fraternity.

Today, Tom continues to further sharpen his skills by attending law seminars and networking with other members in the legal field. Each month, Tom writes "On the Legal Frontline," a legal advice column that is read by over 100,000 people. Tom is an avid collector of Russian, Polish and other international stamps. He spends what little free time he has riding his CBR600.

Tom is in private practice in Omaha, Nebraska, and concentrates on state and federal Criminal Defense and DUI litigation.
